We were pleased to have our Dean of Student Services, Mr. Jerry Franksen, stand in as the surgical first assistant in lab today. For a greenie he did a terrific job! Thanks again for all of your support, Dean Franksen!

Surgical technology is one of the fastest growing professions in the country. Surgical technologists are allied health professionals, who are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients in a variety of settings. Surgical technologists work under medical supervision to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implemention of tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
