Attention all students! Dean Franksen has been kind enough to send us the electronic copies of the student success fliers located throughout the Fresno campus. These documents provide great tips and strategies to help you succeed in the classroom and at home with your personal study. Please take the time to read them at the following link:

Freshmen Experience Their First Lab Day
The freshman class was nervous and excited as they experienced their first day in the surgical lab. This week they had a great introduction as they learned many of the skills and concepts behind sterile processing and the preparation of goods for sterile storage and use. The students passed off their first set of skill assessments this week and are now proficient in sterile wrapping and packaging techniques as well as the use of proper operating room attire and the correct method for the basic handwash. Great job class! You all deserve a great big round of applause!

Welcome New Freshman Class!
We would like to take a moment to welcome the new freshmen class to the SJVC Surgical Technology Program. After receiving their books and a little bit of orientation they have begun their journey toward graduation and toward becoming Certified Surgical Technologists. This term will focus on the basic theories and principles of the practice of surgical technology and build a foundation for their advanced lab and surgical procedure theory courses next term. Congratulations to all of you and good luck throughout this term! We are happy to have you!
Also, a big congrats to our new junior class! Today marked their first day at clinicals. Now they are putting their classroom and lab skills to practical use in the operating room. Great job juniors!
